Well, this weekend sure showed the highs and lows of motorsport!
I was in contention for the Championship, leading by 11 points heading into the weekend. I managed to qualify on pole – which was just what I needed heading into race 1.
I unfortunately didn’t get the start I’d have hoped, however managed to recover and I crossed the line in P2 for Race 1. There wasn’t much in the Championship between myself and Fallon, so I knew it was going to be on!
I started on the front row of the grid for the final race of the season (race 2), however, the clutch burnt out on the line and I was hit from behind, resulting in a DNF and ultimately costing me the Championship. It certainly wasn’t the way I wanted to end the season, but that’s motorsport I guess!
I managed to come away with second-place for the 2018 Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia, which I’m still stoked with.
I’ve had a fantastic season and I can’t thank the crew at Ashley Seward Motorsport for all their hard work this year.
Also, I’d like to give a massive thanks to all my sponsors for their support this season – thanks for riding the wave with me!
Bring on the next chapter!
