It’s been a few weeks break since Winton and it’s hard to believe that we’re heading into the final round of the Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge Australia, as we prepare to take on Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend!
I’ve been keeping up with my training since the last round, Josh from Webb Performance has been keeping me in shape ensuring that I’m fit and ready to go for this weekend. I have also been cutting laps in my simulator and as well as lots of training on my bike, so I’m feeling both mentally and physically prepared.
I will be going into this round with a normal mindset and treating it as if it’s just like any other round. Obviously I’m in contention for the Championship, 11 points in front – but I don’t want to put any pressure on myself.
I have previously raced at Sydney Motorsport Park in the Formula Ford, I managed to qualify 4th however, had bad luck in the races with mechanical issues and found myself fighting my way through the pack from 22nd to 7th. It’s great to be going into this weekend knowing the track and having that little bit of confidence.
I do love the Eastern Creek circuit; it’s got that high speed and fast flowing feel. You have to have that extra edge to go fast there and it really tests your limits, so I can’t wait to get there and give it a crack!
My eyes are set on the Championship this weekend, but I certainly won’t be putting too much pressure on myself. At the end of the day, I’ll be going out there and having fun too and ensuring I finish the season off on a high.
A big thanks to Ashley Seward Motorsport and all my sponsors for their support this year! Let’s hope we can bring home the results.
