SUNDAY SHOOTOUT APPEARANCE FOR MURRAY IN TASMANIA
Cooper Murray’s speed on Sunday and his appearance in the Top Ten Shootout at the Tasmania Super400 was a highlight for the #99.
Saturday was a difficult start for Murray, driving at Launceston for the first time, making a mistake in Qualifying in the first session, finishing P20 first and P19 in the next session.
In the days Races, Murray finished with a clean car for the Erebus Motorsport team in both of the 50-lap dashes in P19 & P20.
On Sunday, Murray put the #99 Erebus Camaro in the Shootout following a lengthy Q1 & Q2 session and later in the day, finished P9 after his solo lap.
In the 78-lap race, the Rookie made a mistake on the opening lap and contact sent him to the pits for some quick repairs, but going down a few laps.
Murray returned to the track but the repairs had put him to the back of the field and he finished P21.
“Started off positively for us on Sunday, I made a silly mistake on Turn 1 and on the opening lap. Sorry to the team for blowing it, our car was quick and we were on for a good result. Eyes forward to Perth for us now, looking forward to heading to a track I’ve been to before. Thanks to the Erebus Motorsport Crew for their hard work this weekend.”
Round 5 of the Supercars Championship will be held on June 6-8 at the Perth Super 440.
